If you want to top dps as a shadow priest in instaes, the best way is to dot all the mobs, and then nuke them down one by one. So you go SWP, DP, VT, tab, SWP, VT, tab, SWP, VT, tab, and then MB and MF, e... It's not the safest way to dps, sie you might get aggro, but it's the best way to be near the top of the dpshart. When you get MS later on, it's even better for pks. DOT them all, and then use MS on the one with the highest health. Itan get pretty impressive.

With the advent of the AoE tank and AoE spank mhans that Wrath has introded, even though I was usually top DPS in my groups as shadow, I was not top damage done. As Kann said, this is really what is most important, as the AoE stuff is typally not what downs bosses.
