However, to help get you started on the path of the hunter, I would recommend purchasing a good bow and arrow set, much like Robin Hood would have used.
It is quiet and not as violent a killer as a gun. You will need to buy a quiver to store those lovely arrows. Now, if you are the more violent type, go with a good gun. Makes loud noises, looks great and rends big holes in your enemy. Be sure to add bullets and a shot pouch to store them in. Guns are pretty useless without some bullets.
Now, once your enemy gets a little closer
you will need something to club them over the head with, be it sharp or blunt. Most hunters prefer the sharper instruments, such as swords, axes... things like that. Bare hands just don't cut it against metal armor. If your leanings are more peaceful, a mace or staff can help make you feel better. You won't see as much blood and therefore not feel as squemish once your enemy is down. All of the damage will have been on the inside and not out. Out of sight, out of mind everyone says! However, I would recommend the sharp tools. You are a hunter and seeing blood should be a welcome sight.
Next, you will need some items to wear once the enemy makes it through your shots and hacks & wacks. There are so many choices of apparel that it boggles the mind. The auction houses are full of wonderful, beautiful items to wear. Since most hunters tend to be smarter than the average bear, these hunters wear the tight leather gear or the heavy protective mail (after 40). Once again, it is all a matter of preferrence and cloth can certainly provide a styling and entertaining option. Should you choose this route, the realm will certainly know who you are and you will become the focus of many discussions. In fact, you could become famous, maybe even a trend-setter! Regular and abundant trips to the spirt realm will give you insights
that you never dreamed possible. Cheese and crackers with the spirt healer can be delightful I have heard.
Finally, don't forget to pick up some pet food. The little critters get angry if you forget to feed them. Although, if you are a peaceful club-toting, cloth-wearing hunter, you will probably want the mechanical squrrel. They don't require food (freeing up valuable bag space for all of your loot), make nice little sqeeks and are of the most docile of pets. They would never hurt a soul and will stand by your side, faithfully, as you are brutally mauled by a level 10 rogue.
Now you should be off and running like a herd of turtles!
